SUMMARY

  • Chris Moore

  • Richie James

Let’s get started.

1. Mecole Hardman, Kansas City Chiefs – 29% Rostered

If you polled every fantasy manager, 100% of them would say Kadarius Toney or Skyy Moore should be the Chiefs’ No. 2 receiver.

However, the team has been extremely hesitant to give Moore consistent snaps, and Toney has been a part-time player since his acquisition. Justin Watson had the second-most snaps among the Chiefs’ receivers in Week 15.

Mecole Hardman was eligible to be activated from injured reserve this past weekend, and while he did not, he will most likely be activated before Week 16.

Prior to his injury, Hardman had four weeks of double-digit half-PPR points. He scored 12 points in Week 5, 13.2 points in Week 6, 28 points in Week 7, and 19.9 points in Week 8. (Week 9, the team had a Week 8 bye).

Hardman averaged 5.5 targets from Weeks 5 to 9 and was clearly the No. 3 receiver behind JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdez-Scantling. Kansas City appears to be looking for a primary No. 3 passing weapon, which could very well be Hardman.

It may be difficult to trust Hardman in Week 16, his first game back from IR, but he was extremely effective the last time we saw him. He’s worth a shot in the big leagues.

2. Chris Moore, Houston Texans – 19% Rostered

Chris Moore is a difficult case to make because he will be completely irrelevant if teammates Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins return in Week 16.

Cooks has missed the last three weeks, while Collins has missed the last two. Cooks returned to practice last week, but Collins did not practice at all leading up to Week 15.

Despite a difficult matchup against Dallas in Week 14, Moore finished with 11 targets, 10 receptions, and 124 yards as the team’s No. 1 receiver.

With both Collins and Cooks out again in Week 15, Moore became the team’s primary target once more.

He finished with nine targets but wasn’t as effective with them as he could have been. He hauled in four for 42 yards. He led the team in snaps, routes run, and targets both weeks.

Moore will remain on the flex radar in larger leagues if both remain out in Week 16, or even if one of them returns. This is due to a strong performance against the Titans in Week 16. Tennessee has allowed 34.7 points per game to opposing receivers this season, ranking second in the league.

3. Demarcus Robinson, Baltimore Ravens – 14% Rostered

There’s a case to be made that Demarcus Robinson should be much higher on this list. The quarterback situation, however, is one of the factors holding him back.

Lamar Jackson could return this week, or fantasy owners could be stuck with Tyler Huntley once more. His potential value is being harmed by the unknown.

However, we can’t deny that he’s clearly the team’s No. 1 receiver, and the volume has been there since the team’s Week 10 bye. Robinson has at least six targets in four of the last five games. Since then, he’s averaged 6.6 targets per game and has three games with double-digit points.

In Weeks 16 and 17, the Ravens face the Falcons and the Steelers, both of which are favorable matchups for opposing receivers. This season, the Falcons have allowed the eighth-most points to receivers (30.8), while the Steelers have allowed the seventh-most (30.2). (31.3).

4. Richie James, New York Giants – 14% Rostered

In Week 16, the Giants face the Minnesota Vikings. That is the best receiver matchup available. This season, no team allows more than 35.6 half-PPR points to receivers. He’s worth picking up just for that reason.

James had found the end zone three times in his previous five games. In three of his last five games, he had scored 13.8, 15.1, and 19.1 half-PPR points.

Despite the fact that one of the touchdowns came in a game with only three targets, James remains the team’s primary slot receiver.

With New York’s lack of receiving weapons and the exceptional matchup in Week 16, James should be a player on fantasy managers’ radars in any larger leagues.
