UPDATE (DEC. 28): QUESTIONABLE

UPDATE (DEC. 27): Hurts is going to try to play against the Saints despite concerns over his shoulder injury.

Hurts is considered day-to-day with his current condition, but his competitiveness and desire to play could push Philadelphia to give him the green light.

UPDATE (DEC. 22): Hurts (shoulder) is not practicing on Wednesday, according to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

UPDATE (Dec. 20): The quarterback’s status for the Eagles’ Week 16 game in Dallas is questionable after Jalen Hurts sprained his right shoulder during Sunday’s victory over the Bears, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Hurts underwent X-rays following Sunday’s game, which revealed the problem, according to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com. Although numerous reports indicate the problem isn’t a long-term one, the quarterback might miss one or two games, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hurts suffered the injury late in the third quarter while attempting to rush to the right side, but he continued playing and went on to direct a scoring drive in the fourth quarter that was culminated by a one-yard touchdown run and a successful two-point conversion run.

Gardner Minshew could get the season’s first start if Hurts is ruled out for Saturday’s away game against the Cowboys.

The Eagles are in good position at the top of the NFC standings, so they certainly can play it safe with the NFL MVP candidate, though we also imagine they would like to try and secure the important top seed in the NFC.
