The Phoenix Suns will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis today. The Suns won the first meeting between these two teams this season, 129-117, and this will be the second meeting between them.
Updates Injury Status Chris Paul and Anthony Edwards for this game
The Suns enter this game having lost to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 126-97. To have any chance of beating the Timberwolves on the road, Phoenix will need to improve their efficiency on both ends of the court, which they did not do last night.
Injury Report: Chris Paul PG (Hip), Deandre Ayton C (Ankle), and Landry Shamet PG (Hip) are listed as questionable. Cam Payne PG (Foot), Cam Johnson PF (Knee), Devin Booker SG (Groin), and Jae Crowder SF (Personal) are listed as out.
Due to hip pain, Chris Paul won’t be able to play against the Timberwolves on Friday.
The Suns will be short-handed in the backcourt once again as Devin Booker (groin), Cameron Payne (foot), and Landry Shamet (hip) are all unable to play. Chris Paul will continue to miss games as he recovers from hip surgery and will do so for a fourth consecutive game. As a direct consequence of this, it is highly likely that Duane Washington and Mikal Bridges will start in the same backcourt position once again.
The Timberwolves are coming into this game after suffering a 135-118 loss to the Pistons. They need to do a better job of contesting shots if they want to win at home after how poorly they played on defense.
Injury Report: Anthony Edwards (Hip) and Kyle Anderson SF (Illness) are listed as questionable. Karl-Anthony Towns C (Calf) is out.
Edwards might not be able to play against the Suns on Friday because his left hip is hurting.
Edwards came back to the game on Wednesday after leaving with a hip problem, but it doesn’t look like he’s gotten out of it unscathed. The questionable designation puts his status in doubt, so it should be watched before the game starts at 8 PM ET. If he can’t play, Austin Rivers and Jaylen Nowell would be the most likely replacements.
