Injury Reports Lakers - Kings

The Kings are fifth in the Western Conference standings with 20 wins in 37 games, while the Lakers are 12th with 17 wins in 38 games.

While the Kings were defeated by the Hawks in their most recent game, the Lakers are on a three-game winning streak. Both the Kings and the Lakers have five wins and five losses in their last ten NBA games. While the Kings have lost eight of their 19 home games this season, the Lakers have won eight of their 21 road games.

LeBron James returned from a one-game absence to lead the Lakers to their fourth consecutive victory, recording his third consecutive double-double and leading the team with 25 points. The future Hall of Famer showed no ill effects from the illness that forced him to miss the Lakers’ win over Miami on Wednesday, shooting 10-for-19 from the field and finishing second on the team with 33 minutes. James also led Los Angeles with 10 assists, his most since dishing 11 assists against Sacramento on Dec. 21.

In his 20th NBA season, the 38-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, averaging 28.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 74.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Anthony Davis’ foot pain has “just about dissipated,” according to ESPN.com’s Dave McMenamin, and he’s “trending in the right direction” in terms of a return ramp-up.

Davis will be re-evaluated in the first week of January, and it’s encouraging to hear he’s nearly pain-free. However, pain isn’t the only issue, and the medical team will want to make sure everything is in order before Davis returns. Meanwhile, Thomas Bryant will almost certainly keep his starting spot at center.
