UPDATE (Jan. 8): Damar Hamlin is breathing on his own and speaking to family, physicians and teammates.
UPDATE (Jan. 7): Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s breathing tube was removed overnight and he’s spoken to his teammates via video, the Bills said Friday morning.
UPDATE (Jan. 6): Doctors said Thursday that Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin is awake in a Cincinnati hospital, is neurologically sound, and is moving his hands and feet, bringing relief and joy to fans nationwide days after the 24-year-in-game old’s cardiac arrest.
UPDATE (Jan. 5): Hamlin remains in critical condition with signs of improvement, he is expected to remain in intensive care. The Buffalo Bills said in an update Wednesday.
UPDATE (Jan. 4): According to Hamlin’s uncle, doctors flipped him on his stomach to relieve pressure on his lungs, Damar Hamlin is still sedated and being ventilated.
Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.
Acording to Ira Turner, Hamlin’s agent: “His vitals are stable, but the 24-year-old has been placed on a breathing tube.”
NFL Media received the following statement from Ira Turner: “Please continue to pray for Damar and his family. We currently have no update at this time. Will ask that you keep the family in your prayers.”
The league has made no further announcements about the future of the game, which has taken a back seat to Hamlin’s critical condition.
