Jonathan Isaac | PF | Tue, Jan 10 | Knee | Game Time Decision |
Bol Bol | PF | Tue, Jan 10 | Covid-19 | Game Time Decision |
Chuma Okeke | PF | Tue, Dec 20 | Knee | Expected to be out until at least Jan 23 |
- Chuma Okeke
Recently, Okeke underwent arthroscopy on his left knee; he will be evaluated again in four weeks.
According to Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel, Bol (COVID-19 protocols) has been given the green light to return to the Magic before Tuesday’s game against the Trail Blazers, despite missing Monday’s game against the Kings.
- Jonathan Isaac
The Magic’s head coach, Jamahl Mosley, said last week that Isaac is fully participating in practice again, but the team has not announced a timetable for Isaac’s return to games.
The Magic’s five-game road trip kicked off this past Saturday in Golden State, and it is currently unknown if forward Jonathan Isaac will be able to play in any of the remaining three games this upcoming week.
Isaac’s return to the lineup is likely to be accompanied by significant playing-time restrictions due to his lengthy absence from game action.

PLAYER | POSITION | UPDATED | INJURY | INJURY STATUS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Jusuf Nurkic | C | Mon, Jan 9 | Illness | Game Time Decision |
Nassir Little | SF | Sun, Jan 8 | Hip | Expected to be out until at least Jan 19 |
Gary Payton II | PG | Sun, Jan 8 | Ankle | Game Time Decision |
Justise Winslow | SG | Tue, Dec 27 | Ankle | Expected to be out until at least Jan 17 |
- Justise Winslow
In two weeks, we will check on Winslow’s ankle to see how he is doing.
- Gary Payton II
Payton’s (ankle) status has been upgraded to “probable” for Tuesday’s game against Orlando.
Payton is expected to play in his second game of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday after missing the last three for his team due to right ankle soreness.
Portland will likely make an announcement about his status as the tip-off time approaches.
- Nassir Little
Little has been sidelined since late November with a mild femoral head impaction fracture of the right hip. The injury was anticipated to keep him out of action for six weeks.
Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reported that Little’s latest follow-up MRI was negative, but the young forward will still require more time than the initial six weeks to get back into game shape.
Barring any unforeseen complications, Little could be back in the lineup by the end of January.
- Jusuf Nurkic
Nurkic’s status for Tuesday’s game against the Magic is in doubt because of an illness unrelated to his Covidae.
Although the veteran center for the Blazers has played in the team’s last four games, his participation in Tuesday’s game against the Magic is questionable. Drew Eubanks may take Nurkic’s place in Portland’s starting lineup if the latter is sidelined.
