Will Anthony Davis and LeBron James PLAYING vs. Knicks? Injury Reports Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers (23-27) travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks (23-26) on Tuesday (27-24). The game will start at 7:30 PM EST.

Latest Updates Injury Status for Anthony Davis and LeBron James

After losing to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 121-104 on Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will be finishing a back-to-back set in the Big Apple on Tuesday. The Knicks last game was Saturday night, when they lost 122-115 to the Nets in Brooklyn.

LeBron James may not play for the Lakers against the Knicks.

LeBron James is in his 20th NBA season and a month past his 38th birthday, but he hasn’t changed much. Time may prevent James from playing Tuesday night in the season opener between his Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

After hurting his left foot or ankle, James was unable to play for the Lakers on Monday. As of Monday afternoon, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said that James’ foot pain is “really significant,” and that the 18-time All-Star will be evaluated again on Tuesday.

Though James has missed 11 games due to injury, he is still on pace for a career-best season in terms of scoring (30.2 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg). When he played for Cleveland in 2005–06, he scored 31.4% of his team’s points. He led the Cavaliers in rebounds in both 2016–17 and 2017–18, averaging 8.6 per contest.

Although the Lakers ultimately fell to the Boston Celtics 125-121 in overtime on Saturday, James came close to a triple-double in the game. Aside from his 41 points, he also contributed 9 boards and 8 helpers. James now has 74 40-point games in his NBA career, putting him 117 points away from tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most in league history.

Anthony Davis: Questionable vs. Knicks

After missing over a month of action due to a foot injury, Davis made two consecutive appearances off the bench. Although it appears that Davis will be rested for the first half of the Lakers’ upcoming back-to-back set, his return to the injury report is concerning.
