Timberwolves vs. Grizzlies Injury Reports: Is Ja Morant, Anthony Edwards playing today?

Timberwolves Grizzlies

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies meet on the court on Friday. The T-Wolves are 3-2 over their last five games, while the Grizzlies are 2-3 over the same span. Minnesota defeated Memphis 111-100 in their most recent meeting.

Updates Status Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards for Timberwolves vs. Grizzlies game

On Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies host the Minnesota Timberwolves as they try to win back-to-back games for the first time since midway through January thanks in large part to the return of Ja Morant.

Because of his sore wrist, Morant didn’t play in Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors (106-103) and didn’t even get to watch the game. And with Steven Adams out indefinitely with a sprained medial collateral ligament, the Grizzlies were missing three-fifths of their starting five.

The return of Morant was crucial to the Grizzlies’ victory over the Chicago Bulls (104-89). Throughout the season, Morant has put up 27.4 points, 8.3 dimes, and 5.8 boards on average.

Morant nearly had another perfect fantasy line, but his free throw shooting let him down. The fourth-year point guard had his highest field goal percentage in a game since January 5 against the Orlando Magic.

The Minnesota Timberwolves just got back from a road game against the Utah Jazz, which they won 143-118.

In 33 minutes of action, Anthony Edwards scored 31 points (13-27 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), dished out 8 assists, pulled down 7 rebounds, and stole a single ball.

Six times in his last 11 games, he has scored at least 30 points. With Karl-Anthony Towns sidelined by a calf injury, it’s expected that Edwards will continue to see the bulk of the offensive touches.

Karl-Anthony Towns, a veteran for the Minnesota Timberwolves, will sit out with a calf injury. The Memphis Grizzlies now have less of an issue inside the 3-point line.

At the game against the Jazz, not only did Rudy Gobert (groin) not play, but also Kyle Anderson (back) and Austin Rivers.

Gobert (groin) is questionable after missing the second half of Minnesota’s back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday due to lingering right groin soreness.
