After losing Xander Bogaerts and J.D Martinez, the Red Sox are rushing to restock their roster. Justin Turner is their first target.
If the Red Sox want to sign Justin Turner, they will face stiff competition
“Red Sox heavily in mix for Justin Turner along with a couple others. Has been seeking 2 years. Should be signed somewhere soon.” According to Jon Heyman
The Miami Marlins and Arizona Diamondbacks were mentioned as frontrunners for Turner earlier this week. Miami is particularly aggressive in its pursuit of the free agent third baseman.

Many people believe Turner is available because of the Dodgers’ recent signing of JD Martinez. This offseason has been unusually quiet in Los Angeles. Many teams believe the Dodgers will not spend more money on Turner, allowing teams like the Red Sox to swoop in and acquire him.
The Red Sox are arguably one of the biggest losers of the offseason this year. As previously stated, they were unable to retain free agent shortstop Xander Bogaerts.
The acquisition of Justin Turner would be a nice consolation prize for Boston, which did not make the playoffs last season.
