On Christmas Day, the Los Angeles Lakers will travel to Dallas to face the Dallas Mavericks. This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season.
Injury Status Updates for Anthony Davis and LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers were defeated by the Charlotte Hornets 134-130. They struggled on defense, and if they want to compete with the Mavericks on the road, they must pressure more shooters in this game.
Anthony Davis (Foot), Cole Swider (Foot), and Juan Toscano-Anderson (Ankle) have all been ruled out for this game. While LeBron James and Thomas Bryant’s status is listed as Day-to-Day.
Anthony Davis will be out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his right foot. Davis hasn’t played more than 40 games in either of the last two seasons, and he hasn’t played more than 62 games in any of the previous five, so he appears to be in for another long absence.
LeBron James is still dealing with ankle pain but isn’t in danger of missing Sunday’s game. He’s averaging 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in 37.2 minutes per game this month while shooting 52.8 percent from the field.
The Dallas Mavericks just defeated the Houston Rockets 112-106. The Mavericks defended well, allowing the Rockets to shoot only 30.8% from beyond the arc. They will have to continue contesting shots on the perimeter if they want to take care of business at home.
Reggie Bullock (Neck), Dorian Finney-Smith (Hip), and Jared Hardy (Back) are all listed as questionable. In the meantime, Josh Green (SG) and Maxi Kleber (Hamstring) are both injured.
