In the NFC South, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found themselves in an unexpected dogfight. They are 6-8 on the season and have only a one-game lead over the Panthers, Falcons, and Saints, who are all 5-9. This division’s representative must make the playoffs, which is currently unknown.
As a result, this game, like the rest of Tampa Bay’s games this season, takes on added significance. The Buccaneers found themselves in this situation after losing three of their last four games.

- Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are having a bad season. They have now dropped four straight games and are 4-10 on the season.
They have one of the league’s worst records and are officially out of the playoffs. The team appears to have given up after falling to the Denver Broncos 24-15 last weekend.
Kyler Murray, who was injured the week before in the third play of a loss to the Patriots, was replaced at quarterback by Colt McCoy in last Sunday’s loss to the Broncos.
In the Broncos game, however, McCoy was injured, and Trace McSorley took over at quarterback. So McCoy is out for Sunday’s game, and McSorley appears to be the starter on Christmas Day.
Despite a depleted roster, the Cardinals will have two huge weapons on the field on Sunday in running back James Conner and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
The Cardinals average 18.9 points per game, ranking 18th in the NFL, and allow 26.6 points per game, ranking dead last.
