Fantasy Sleepers for Week 16: Latest news on Chigoziem Okonkwo, Juwan Johnson and more
SUMMARY
- Chigoziem Okonkwo
- Juwan Johnson
- Gus Edwards
- Gabe Davis
1. Chigoziem Okonkwo
For Ryan Tannehill, Chigoziem Okonkwo has been the best receiver. Okonkwo had the most targets for the Titans with five, and he caught four of them for a total of 54 yards. His three consecutive games with double-digit PPR points make him the TE2 at this point and fourth in terms of points per game (13.1).
In addition to scoring in fantasy, Okonkwo leads all tight ends with at least 50 routes run, averaging 2.63 yards per route run. In Week 16, he’ll face Houston in a matchup that’s in his favor. Okonkwo is a genuine low-end TE1, not just a sleeper.

2. Juwan Johnson
Juwan Johnson, who was making his comeback after suffering an ankle injury in Week 12, had yet another outstanding performance. Despite the Saints’ restriction of his playing time to just 13 routes, Johnson had an absurd target-per-route-run rate against the Falcons of 46.1% with four receptions on six targets for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson has now scored seven touchdowns in his last seven games after finishing the week as the TE2 with 22.7 PPR points. Except for elite volume TE options, the only thing you care about in fantasy football is touchdown potential. And Johnson currently has the greatest potential. Johnson is a high-end TE2 sleeper for Week 16 despite the Browns only allowing two touchdowns to tight ends this season.
3. Gus Edwards
Edwards played second fiddle for the second week in a row but still managed to gain at least 50 (55 & 66) yards on the ground. For that reason alone, Edwards is a top-tier sleeper.
Only 97 passing yards could be produced by Ridder. Caleb Huntley, a running back for the Falcons, suffered a similar injury. Edwards is the most intriguing of my sleepers due to his potential to handle a lot of garbage time carries and good field positioning.
4. Gabe Davis
Nowadays, players for the Buffalo Bills are rarely considered sleepers. Everybody has been anticipating the next Gabriel Davis meltdown match. It’s challenging to bench a player like Davis week after week when he can boom as much as he can.
Gabe consistently scores 20+ fantasy points. The Chicago Bears defense, which was just humiliated by Jalen Hurts and his receiving group, will be up against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. This week is the perfect time to awaken Gabe Davis from his slumber.
