Anthony Davis (foot) plans to increase the intensity of his rehabilitation in the coming weeks in order to return to the starting lineup.
Davis’s right foot fracture has forced him to miss the last 12 games, but he will soon begin a rehabilitation program that includes swimming and running on a special treadmill designed to simulate weightlessness. Good for the superstar center that he is putting less emphasis on his shooting and more on his overall fitness.
The Lakers have won five straight games under Thomas Bryant’s direction after getting off to a slow start without Davis. But even if Los Angeles manages to get all of its injured players back, the current winning streak won’t last forever. As a positive note, Davis’s absence from the field is predicted to be limited to just two weeks.

On Sunday night, the Philadelphia 76ers prevailed 113-112 over the Los Angeles Lakers. When the final buzzer sounded, LeBron James had joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history with 38,000 points.
The Lakers have lost three in a row after a five-game winning streak, despite James’s 35 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.
The Houston Rockets were defeated by the Sacramento Kings on Friday. The current losing streak for Houston stands at nine games, including five consecutive losses on the road. The Rockets have a 4-18 road record and an 18-23-1 record against the spread.
