The Cavaliers beat New Orleans on the road on Monday night, making it four losses in six games for the Pelicans.

The Pelicans were 26-18 heading into Tuesday, good for second place in the Southwest Division, 4.5 games back of the Grizzlies in the conference’s top spot.

At the time, they were 4.5 games back of the first-place Grizzlies and Nuggets in the Western Conference and 4 games ahead of the eighth-place Warriors to ensure a postseason berth.

This year, Brandon Ingram averages 20.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, while Zion Williamson averages a team-high 26 points and seven boards per game.

Jones’s back injury kept him out of action for a third straight game on Monday.

There is currently no return date set for Ingram (toe), who has been sidelined since November 25.

Since Ingram’s last game on November 25, he has yet to make a comeback, and it is unclear when he will play again.

The 25-year-old superstar’s health should be closely monitored in the lead-up to each game, but there has been no word yet on when he might resume practice. Until then, it seems like Ingram will have to sit this one out.

Williamson will be reevaluated next week after suffering a hamstring injury on January 2 against Memphis.
