Steve Kerr reports the dilemma that Andrew Wiggins faces prior to the Warriors’ playoff push (Updated: Apr. 04)

The Warriors are going into the playoffs without star player Andrew Wiggins…

Steve Kerr has released the most recent details about Andrew Wiggins

UPDATE (Apr. 04):

The Warriors are expected to have swingman Andrew Wiggins back in the lineup, perhaps as soon as this week, per multiple reports.

Andrew Wiggins is expected to return to the club this week after missing the last 21 games due to a personal problem, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Additionally, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports Wiggins plans to attend Golden State’s home game against the Thunder on Tuesday.

UPDATE (Apr. 02):

So far, the Golden State Warriors’ season has been a failure. They were the winners of the Larry O’Brien award last year, but this year’s performance has been disappointing.

Problems winning on the road and a weak supporting cast have been factors that have hampered their season.

Key players for the Warriors, such as Stephen Curry, have been sidelined with injuries this season. In addition, Andrew Wiggins has been MIA for a long time due to individual matters.

But recently, head coach Steve Kerr updated the team on Wiggins’ situation.

“Beyond that, once he’s back our training staff will be able to get with him and see where he is,” Kerr said Tuesday via ESPN.

Kerr has stated that he will not bench Wiggins for the remainder of the season, so “there’s hope” that we will see him on the court again this year. Whether that happens in the final six games of the regular season or later in the playoffs is still up in the air (play-in games or playoffs).

“There’s hope but it’s I guess indefinite, it’s also appropriate because we don’t know,”

Wiggins has not played for the Warriors since February 13.

The Warriors forward has averaged just 32.2% of the possible playing time for the season, with 32.2 minutes per game. Wiggins has averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 47.3% field goal percentage, and 39.6% three-point shooting.

When healthy, Wiggins is one of the Warriors’ best players. Other players have had to step up in his absence and make major contributions to their offense and defense.
