The Cavaliers will play the Pelicans in New Orleans on Friday. These two teams are meeting for the second time this season. The score of the first game was 113-103, with the Cavaliers coming out on top.

Updates Injury Status for Brandon Ingram and Donovan Mitchell

In their most recent game, the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 116-107. They need to keep up that kind of offensive performance at home against the Cavaliers if they want to win.

Ingram says he’s back in shape, which is great news.

The Pels’ star forward Brandon Ingram returned to the lineup not long ago after missing two months with a left big toe injury, and he appears to be making quick progress in his recovery. He has averaged 30.3 points per game over the last three contests while shooting 36 of 66 (54.5% of the time).

Tuesday’s 116-107 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks was fueled by 30 points from Ingram. He was eleven for eighteen in field goal attempts. After losing 10 in a row and 15 of their previous 18, this was the Pelicans’ third consecutive victory.

“I’m able to get my legs under me a little bit and figure different things,” Ingram said. “I’m able to score the basketball, but I’m also able to look for the best shot on the floor.”

Williamson (hamstring) will miss the rematch, making it the 20th consecutive game he has been unable to play in. Williamson is injured and will not only miss the Pelicans’ final two games before the All-Star break, but also the All-Star Game itself.

Williamson has averaged 26 points per game over a total of 29 games. Despite being drafted first overall this year, the fourth-year pro has played in only 114 games for New Orleans.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers played the Detroit Pistons, they came out on top by a score of 113-85. They did an excellent job on defense, but if they want to beat the Pelicans on the road, they will need to play more aggressively in the offensive end of the court.

The Cavaliers need a win tonight to finish off the season series sweep of the Pelicans. At home on January 16th, Garland scored 30 points as Cleveland defeated Pels 113-103.

Even though they sat out Wednesday’s game due to injury, Donovan Mitchell (groin) and Darius Garland (thumb) will both be available tonight.

Donovan Mitchell’s absence in February was a bit concerning after he missed time in January with groin soreness. Having missed only one game, the star point guard is now back in the starting lineup alongside Darius Garland (thumb).

He’s been scoring at a 26.8 ppg clip and will be a starter in the All-Star Game.

Garland also didn’t play on Wednesday against the Pistons due to a sore right thumb, but he should be good to go for the upcoming game. During his last 17 games, he has averaged 23.2 points, 8.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game.
