Boston hasn’t lost in two weeks, going 7-0 against a healthy mix of rebuilding teams and potential contenders in both the Eastern and Western Conferences. They play the Atlanta Hawks on November 16, who are only two spots behind them in the standings.
Trae Young and Jaylen Brown ready for Hawks vs Celtics game
With homecourt advantage, the Hawks present one of Boston’s most difficult challenges this season. Will the Celtics respond with their eighth consecutive win on Wednesday, or will they be forced to rebuild in New Orleans on Friday?
Jaylen Brown had 26 points (11-21 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 41 minutes against Oklahoma City on Monday. When the Celtics play the Hawks on Tuesday, he will try to extend his streak of at least 20 points.
Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Hawks.
Brogdon has missed the Celtics’ last three games due to right hamstring soreness. The 29-year-old guard has averaged 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 23.0 minutes per game this season.
If Brogdon is unable to play on Wednesday, he will most likely play on Friday against the Pelicans.
Marcus Smart (ankle) is expected to play on Wednesday against Atlanta.
Smart has right ankle inflammation but should be able to play on Wednesday. The point guard is coming off a 22-point performance against the Thunder, and he has at least eight assists in five of his last six games.
The Atlanta Hawks’ backcourt is led (predictably) by Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. In 2022-23, Young will be a near-double-double threat again, while Murray will average 21/8/6 with more than two steals per game.
Trae Young will most likely play against the Boston Celtics.

This season, Trae Young has averaged 26.9 points, 9.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 three-pointers per game, but his 37.8 percent field-goal percentage and 3.6 turnovers per game have reduced his fantasy value slightly.
