The latest injury report for the Timberwolves – Mavericks

THE TIMBERWOLVES

Minnesota’s four-game road trip concluded with a 128-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. In 26 minutes of action after being traded to the Grizzlies from the Jazz at the trade deadline, Conley shot 3 for 7. He finished with nine points.

Rudy Gobert, the Wolves’ center, and Conley were teammates for three years with the Utah Jazz before last week’s trade reunited them as friends. Conley’s presence in Minnesota might instantly help Gobert, according to Timberwolves coach Chris Finch.

Do we expect Rudy Gobert to play on Monday?

As of right now, Gobert’s status for Monday’s game in Dallas with a groin injury is in doubt.

Gobert has been playing through some pain in his right groin, but he had to sit out Wednesday’s game in Utah.

He played Friday night in Memphis (scoring eight points, grabbing ten rebounds, and blocking two shots in 29 minutes), but the Wolves won’t make a final decision on his status until Monday.

After playing on Monday, the Timberwolves have the rest of the week off before their final game against the Wizards on Thursday before the All-Star break.

Minnesota has argued and played unevenly without their top player Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been out for over two months with a calf injury.

The Wolves hope the veteran Conley can bring some much-needed defensive and offensive steadiness to their team.

THE MAVERICKS

It’s well knowledge that the Dallas Mavericks created headlines when they successfully negotiated a trade with the Brooklyn Nets to acquire point guard Kyrie Irving.

The Mavericks sent a future number one pick, a pair of second-round picks, and Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith.

The Mavericks went 2-0 when Irving was in the lineup, but on Saturday night in Sacramento, they lost 133-128 in overtime to the Kings despite starting both Luka Doncic and Irving for the first time.

Both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving quickly found their rhythm as a guard tandem for the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks will have their brilliant duo back on the court on Monday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, who had some surprising roster adjustments of their own last week.

After winning the previous two games, Dallas’s three-game winning streak was ended by the Sacramento Kings, 133-128 in overtime, on Saturday.

After being acquired from the Brooklyn Nets, Irving played well in his second game with the team, tallying 28 points and dishing out 7 assists.

On Monday, the Mavericks will play the Sacramento Kings, an in-state rival of Dallas, marking Irving’s Mavericks debut.

Doncic returned to the starting lineup on Saturday after missing four games with a heel injury and had a huge game, finishing with 27 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in the loss.

Doncic has never had a worse scoring average against any other team than 22.2 points against the Wolves in his career. The Wolves hope to benefit from the signing of point guard Mike Conley.

Center Before Irving’s arrival, JaVale McGee was buried on the team’s bench. Now, he sees significant playing time and contributes significantly, averaging 9.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Kidd has noted that pick-and-roll situations with Irving and McGee are where McGee shines.

It has been over two months since the Mavericks and Wolves last played each other, in the middle of December in Minnesota. The Mavericks have won 22 of their last 30 meetings with the Timberwolves, including five straight at home.
