Magic - Bucks Injury Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Gary Harris - IN or OUT for this game today?

Milwaukee will try to begin a new winning streak and add to its current one when it goes to Orlando on Tuesday night.

Tonight’s injury report for the Orlando Magic versus Milwaukee Bucks

Orlando was among the NBA’s first teams to start the year off poorly, as the Magic dropped 20 of their first 25 contests.

After losing their first game, the Magic rallied by winning eight of their next nine games. Last losing streak was against Miami and Chicago at the end of January, so they’ve gone almost a month without losing twice in a row.

Orlando’s four-game homestand began with a loss to Portland (122-119), so the Magic will have to protect that streak again on Tuesday. Before to that setback, the Magic had won two of three games on a short road trip.

Despite having all five of their starters score at least 15 points, they lost because Portland’s Damian Lillard scored 41 points.

Freshman wing Paolo Banchero led the squad in scoring with 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Veteran guard Franz Wagner chipped with 24 points and six assists.

Jalen Suggs saw his playing time drop significantly in January and February, but in 35 minutes on Sunday, he recorded 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.

Thus far in March, Suggs has played an average of 30 minutes each game. At an NBA-worst 28th in scoring, the Magic could use all the help they can get on offense (111.0). Milwaukee’s defense is seventh in the NBA in points allowed per game (111.5), so they’ll have their work cut out for them.

  • Gary Harris

For Tuesday’s game against the Bucks, Harris‘s hip injury has made him questionable to play.

Harris missed Sunday’s loss to Portland due to tightness in his left adductor and may be sidelined for a second straight game with this injury. If this is the case, Jalen Suggs will almost certainly start again, while Cole Anthony and Michael Carter-Williams may see expanded roles off the bench.

Milwaukee raced out to a 22-8 start to the season before losing nine of its next 16 games. The Bucks became the hottest team in the NBA after that, rattling off 16 consecutive wins to mark the longest winning streak of the season.

They took down some of the league’s best teams during that stretch, including Denver, Boston and Phoenix. Milwaukee’s final win of that streak came against Orlando last Wednesday, as Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 34 points and nine rebounds.

The Bucks had their winning streak snapped in a 133-130 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday, blowing an 18-point third-quarter lead.

They bounced back on Sunday, notching a 117-111 win at Washington. Antetokounmpo posted a triple-double with 23 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds, intentionally missing a shot with one second remaining to clinch his fourth triple-double of the season.

Jevon Carter had a big game as well, scoring 20 points on 6 of 10 shooting from beyond the arc. The Bucks drilled 22 of 49 attempts from 3-point range, which were the most 3-pointers allowed by Washington this season.

They also took a 1.5-game lead over Boston for first place in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee ranks No. 11 in the NBA in scoring, averaging 115.6 points per game. It is facing an Orlando defense that is No. 17, allowing 113.7 points per contest.
