Latest news on Kawhi Leonard and Tre Jones. Injury Reports Clippers – Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs continue their road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. The Spurs have now dropped three straight games and are 6-10 on the season. The Clippers are 9-7 in their last ten games and 7-3 in their last ten.

Is Kawhi Leonard, Tre Jones playing tonight?

Kawhi Leonard Injury Reports Clippers - Spurs

The Los Angeles Clippers were a popular preseason pick to make a deep playoff run with the return of Kawhi Leonard to an already formidable lineup.

In 25 minutes against the Pistons on Thursday, Kawhi Leonard (knee) had six points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, and four assists.

After coming off the bench in his first two appearances of the season, Leonard surprisingly entered the Clippers’ starting lineup in his return from a 12-game absence due to lingering pain in his surgically repaired knee.

Expect Leonard to gradually shake off the rust once he starts playing regularly, though he’ll be limited in minutes for the next few games and could sit out one half of back-to-back sets for the rest of the season.

Luke Kennard (calf) will miss the Clippers’ “next couple of games,” but he will be evaluated again next week.

Kennard’s expected return date means he will almost certainly miss the Pistons’ game on Thursday and the Spurs’ game on Saturday.

The San Antonio Spurs are mired in a four-game losing streak that has dropped them to 13th place in the Western Conference. The team has gone 2-8 in their last ten games, including a 130-112 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.

Tre Jones will return to the starting lineup after being ruled out of the Warriors game on Monday due to illness. In 30.4 minutes per game this season, the third-year point guard has averaged 12.3 points, 6.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals.
