Injury Reports for Los Angeles Lakers – Brooklyn Nets

The Lakers have recently lost a heartbreaking game, falling to the Boston Celtics 124-121 in overtime. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets had lost two straight games before Saturday’s 122-115 victory over New York. Kyrie Irving was dominant once again, this time with 32 points and nine assists.

King James’s ankle injury will keep him out of Monday’s game against the Nets.

Due to ongoing discomfort in his left ankle, James has decided to sit out the first game of the Lakers’ upcoming back-to-back set. Since January 9th, this is his first extended absence from the lineup. James is likely to return to action on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks. His absence was likely due to James simply needing to manage his workload.

Thomas Bryant, Wenyen Gabriel, Rui Hachimura, and Juan Toscano-Anderson could see increased playing time against the Nets on Monday without Anthony Davis (foot).

Anthony Davis will not play against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday because of a stress injury to his right foot.

Davis returned to action twice off the bench after missing more than a month with a foot injury, but he will be sidelined once more on Monday.

Even though his absence from the Lakers’ first game of their upcoming back-to-back set appears to be a load-management situation, Davis’s return to the injury report is still cause for concern.

In the game against the Nets, Thomas Bryant, Wenyen Gabriel, Rui Hachimura, and Juan Toscano-Anderson could all see increased playing time.

Walker came back from being away for a month on Saturday, and he should be available again on Monday. The 24-year-old came off the bench on Saturday, and he might stay there for a while as he gets his legs back after being out for a long time.

Meanwhile, Reaves will thus miss at least the next three contests, and potentially more as he continues to recover from a hamstring strain. He hasn’t appeared in a contest since Jan. 4, leaving the Lakers shorthanded in the backcourt in the meantime.

Ben Simmons’ (knee) status for tonight’s game is questionable. Simmons missed Saturday’s win over the Knicks because of soreness in his left knee, and his status for Monday’s game is uncertain at this time.

T.J. Warren has been listed as day-to-day with a contusion on his left shin, but it looks like he will miss his second consecutive game on Monday. If he can’t go against the Lakers tonight, he’ll be good to go against the Celtics on Wednesday.
