The Nets play the Spurs in San Antonio on Tuesday. The Nets won the first meeting between these two teams this season, 139-103, and this will be the second meeting between the two teams this season.
Updates Injury Status Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for Nets vs. Spurs game
The Brooklyn Nets entered the game having lost 112-102 to the Oklahoma City Thunder. They had trouble scoring in that game and will need to improve that statistic if they want to beat the Spurs on the road.
Injury Report: Kevin Durant SF (Knee) is out. Ben Simmons SG (Back) is questionable.
After tearing the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, Kevin Durant will be out for about a month.
After getting hurt in the third quarter of Sunday’s 102-101 win over the Heat, the Nets announced that Durant would be reevaluated in two weeks. The one-month estimate is, however, unverified by the team.
Even if the results of the reevaluation at the end of the month are favorable, Durant will still need a period of adjustment before he can play at his normal level again, so fantasy owners should be prepared for the possibility that the 34-year-old will be sidelined until the middle of February, when the NBA schedule takes a break for the All-Star break.
Kyrie Irving’s poor play of late is largely attributable to the fact that he has had to carry the team’s offensive load while Kevin Durant is out with an injury.
The Spurs entered the game having just suffered a 132-119 defeat at the hands of the Sacramento Kings. Concerns arose on defense, as they were unable to generate enough stops to keep up with the opposition. If they want to end their home losing streak, they’ll need to step up their pressure game in this matchup.
Injury Report: Doug McDermott SF (Back) is questionable. Devin Vassell SG (Knee) is out.
