Jaylen Waddle receives an important injury update ahead of the Dolphins’ Week 5 matchup against the Jets.
Jaylen Waddle’s injury in Week 5 is being updated
Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins did not practice Wednesday due to a groin injury.
Waddle has recently suffered a groin injury. He was not a full participant in any of the Dolphins’ practices last week, so he entered the Week 4 road game against the Cincinnati Bengals with the injury.
He was eventually cleared to play in the game after participating in 86 percent of offensive snaps.
Waddle is still playing despite his injury. Losing exercise after the extra days off afforded by playing Thursday is not a positive sign, but Waddle missed practicing the previous week as well.
A restricted start practicing Thursday would be a positive indicator for fantasy managers who see Waddle as a high-end WR2.
During his press conference on Friday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel stated that he is “just hoping for the best with Jaylen Waddle.”
In the big picture, it’s unclear which wide receivers Teddy Bridgewater will be able to rely on in Week 5. Tyreek Hill, who has a quad injury, was also listed as questionable.
The Dolphins are looking for a crucial divisional victory over the Jets in order to maintain their lead in the AFC East standings.
