Injury Updates New Orleans Pelicans vs. Washington Wizards game
The Wizards have returned home following a four-game road trip. They won the first two games against the Magic and the Bucks, but lost the rematch to the Bucks. Then, on Saturday, they were defeated by the Thunder, bringing the trip to a close. The Wizards are fighting for a playoff spot and had a recent five-game winning streak that ended last week.
The Wizards announced on Thursday that Beal has a low-grade left hamstring injury and will miss the next three games before being re-evaluated in about a week. It is a significant loss.
After missing the previous three games, Beal re-injured his hamstring in Tuesday’s 123-113 loss to the Bucks. Corey Kispert started the second half of Tuesday’s game with the starters and could fill in on the wing for the remainder of Beal’s absence.
The New Orleans Pelicans are currently on a five-game road trip. They were defeated by the Nets on Friday and began their road trip with a 119-110 loss to the Mavericks. New Orleans is stumbling as a result of injuries, having lost four of their last five games as offensive production has decreased.
Zion Williamson (hamstring) is expected to be out for several weeks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Williamson had an MRI on his hamstring earlier in the day, and the results don’t look promising. The star big man has a history of long injuries in his three years in the league, and he will now add another to the list. Naji Marshall appears to be the most likely beneficiary of his absence.
Meanwhile, Brandon Ingram is also out with an injury and is unlikely to play in this game.
