Pelicans vs. Spurs injuries: 7 Questionable, 4 Out

The New Orleans Pelicans and the San Antonio Spurs, both of whom had recently suffered devastating losses, showed remarkable resilience by coming back to win on Sunday.

On Tuesday night in New Orleans, they will renew their rivalry with hopes of adding to their previous triumph.

The Pelicans, who are vying for a play-in berth, defeated the Houston Rockets by a score of 117-107 on Sunday.

  • Brandon Ingram – Active

Brandon Ingram led New Orleans with 26 points on 12-of-24 shooting (from the field), one three-pointer, two free throws, and 39 minutes played.

The Duke product finished just short of his second double-double after scoring 20 points and dishing out a season-high nine assists.

After missing two games in the middle of March, Ingram has come back stronger than ever, averaging 26.3 points, 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals/blocks in 38.3 minutes per game since his return.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs are one of four Western Conference teams that have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. They currently hold a 19-52 record.

Despite a 5-5 record over their last 10, San Antonio is a dismal 6-27 on the road this season, where they are averaging just 112.8 PPG (23rd in the NBA) while allowing 122.1 PPG (last in the NBA).

  • Tre Jones – Questionable

Ty Jager of Fansided’s Air Alamo reports that Tre Jones’ status for Tuesday’s game against the Pelicans is in question due to a hamstring injury.

Jones has scored double figures in his last two games, but he will likely be one of several Spurs who will miss Tuesday’s game due to the team’s back-to-back schedule.

Assuming he sits, Devonte’ Graham (quadriceps), Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley are candidates to see increased run for San Antonio.
