Injury Update Nuggets – Hornets: Can we expect to see LaMelo Ball and Nikola Jokic today?

Two teams from different conferences who are at opposite ends of the playoff picture in their own conference play each other on the hardwood in Buzz City. On Saturday night, the Nuggets are going to Charlotte to play the Hornets.

Will LaMelo Ball and Nikola Jokic playing tonight?

It was the third straight loss by double digits for the Hornets on Friday night, as they were defeated by the visiting Boston Celtics 127-116.

The Hornets have lost their previous six games in a row. In Friday’s loss to the Celtics, Charlotte was led by 27 points from Terry Rozier. LaMelo Ball was a huge help with 24 points and 10 assists.

The Hornets will have to rework their late-game strategy for the second time without center Mason Plumlee, who has since signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Martin underwent knee surgery in November and has been out since then, so he has only played in seven games this year. Following the Thunder game on December 29, Oubre Jr. underwent surgery on his injured thumb. He won’t be able to play again until probably the end of February.

The Denver Nuggets need a pick-me-up in order to avoid yet another lackluster showing. They play the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night, who might be just the team to get them back on track.

The Nuggets’ 115-104 loss to the Magic on Thursday was their first of a three-game road trip. Over their last five games, Denver’s offense has been consistently potent, averaging over 120 points per contest.

Despite the Nuggets’ 115-104 loss to the Magic on Thursday, star center Jokic recorded a double-double with 29 points (10-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in 38 minutes of action.

Even though Jokic’s streak of four consecutive triple-doubles was snapped on Thursday, he has now had five straight games with double-digit rebounds.

The Nuggets may be short-handed on Saturday. Collin Gillespie will be out for the foreseeable future due to his broken leg. The last two games have been played without Zeke Nnaji (shoulder) and Murray (knee). Both should be treated as temporary at this time and monitored closely for variations.
