The Brooklyn Nets take on the Washington Wizards on Friday night in Washington, D.C.

The Nets are off to a disastrous start to the 2022-23 NBA season. They are 0-8 in their first eight games and have dropped five of their last six.

They fired head coach Steve Nash, who was in his third season with the team, on Tuesday.

They were swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs last season, so this was supposed to be a rebound year.

The NBA, on the other hand, has 82 games, so they still have 74 games to go. The Wizards enter the night with a 4-4 record through their first eight games.

They have a 2-2 record on the road and a 2-2 record at home. Kyle Kuzma, Bradley Beal, and Kristaps Porzingis form an intriguing big three on the roster.

Last season, the team struggled with injuries and finished as the Eastern Conference’s 12th seed, missing the playoffs.

Ben Simmons is currently sidelined with a knee injury, and Kyrie Irving has been suspended for “no less than” five games.

Thus, Kevin Durant and the Nets, who have become far more important to the team’s success than they had anticipated, will be in Washington on Friday to face the Wizards.

Kevin Durant has led the way with 32.5 points per game on 52.5% shooting from the field, but the team as a whole has struggled.
