Injury Reports Grizzlies: Are Ja Morant and Desmond Bane playing vs. Pacers?

The Indiana Pacers travel to Memphis to take on the Memphis Grizzlies. It’s the second time that these two squads have met this year. The last time, the Grizzlies won 130–112.

Updates on Ja Morant and Desmond Bane’ injury status for Sunday’s game

Injury Reports Grizzlies - Pacers

The Grizzlies

Last time out, Memphis was defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 111-100. They struggled on offense and defense, so they’ll need to improve their efficiency if they want to win at home.

Despite his team’s 111-100 loss to Minnesota on Friday night, Ja Morant still managed to score 27 points (10-21 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), grab 10 rebounds, and dish out 11 assists in 38 minutes of action.

The Grizzlies star had his fourth triple-double of the season, but the Grizzlies still lost for the fifth game in a row. The Grizzlies’ winning streak of 11 games has come to an end. Morant continues to put up big numbers every game, but his lack of defensive output is a concern. The Grizzlies will host the Pacers on Sunday, and they’ll want to win.

  • Desmond Bane (Knee)
  • John Konchar (Concussion)
  • Danny Green (Knee)
  • Steven Adams (Knee)

Desmond Bane’s (knee) status for tonight’s game is in doubt. A sore right knee will keep him out of action for a second game in a row. Ziaire Williams started for the Timberwolves in place of John Konchar (concussion) in Friday’s loss and will likely do so again on Sunday.

Konchar will miss his third straight game as a result of concussion protocols. On Wednesday, he’ll get another opportunity to play against the Trail Blazers.

Green’s knee injury is still uncertain at this time. While Green has stated that he hopes to make his 2022–23 debut on February 1 against Portland, he now has a chance to play on Sunday. The 35-year-old suffered an ACL and LCL injury to his left knee in May of last year and has spent the entire season rehabbing.

Adams, meanwhile, has been diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his right knee and will miss three to five weeks of action.

The Pacers

The last time out, the Indiana Pacers were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks by a final score of 141-131. They struggled to stop the other team from scoring, and they’ll need to do so again if they want to beat the Grizzlies on the road.

On Sunday, Haliburton will not play against the Grizzlies because he has a knee injury.

Although Haliburton hasn’t played since the 11th of January because of a sprained left knee, he has been able to participate in some of the team’s practices each week. There is rising anticipation of his imminent return. Andrew Nembhard, T.J. McConnell, and Benedict Mathurin have all gotten more playing time in his absence. On Thursday, Haliburton will get another chance to play when they take on the Lakers.

Meanwhile, due to an injury, Theis will sit out Indiana’s game in Memphis and won’t make his debut until the 2022-23 season. When the Lakers visit on Thursday, he’ll get another opportunity to play.
