K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports that Lonzo Ball said on Monday that he is still feeling some discomfort in his surgically repaired left knee and that he acknowledged the possibility that he might not be able to play during the 2022-2023 season.
Ball told reporters that despite missing a year of basketball due to a left knee injury, which he treated with two arthroscopic procedures, the most recent of which was in late September, he has remained mentally strong. The Bulls will play in Paris on Thursday.
In spite of the fact that Ball has resumed light running and some on-court work, he is unlikely to be given clearance to increase to full-speed, full-contact practice until the pain in his knee completely subsides. Ball’s comments on Monday suggest the 25-year-old isn’t completely confident he’ll be ready to play before the Bulls’ regular-season finale on April 9. At this point, it seems safe to rule out Ball through the All-Star break.
Most redraft leagues with limited injured list spots will find it difficult to justify holding Ball in 2022-2023, assuming he plays at all.

DeMar DeRozan (quadriceps) is not listed on the game day injury report for Thursday’s contest in Paris against the Pistons.
After missing three straight games with a quadriceps injury, it’s not surprising that DeRozan is not on the injury report because he practiced Monday and said afterwards that he expects to play Thursday.
