Game 2 of the regular season series pits the Raptors against the Lakers, with the Raptors hoping to sweep the season series.
Update Injury Status LeBron James, Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell
If the Los Angeles Lakers want to make the playoffs, Anthony Davis will be the one to carry them in their home game against the Toronto Raptors.
Davis has been instrumental in the Lakers’ recent success, averaging 33 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks over the team’s previous five games as they climb the Western Conference standings in search of a play-in tournament place.
The Los Angeles Lakers improved to 9th place with a 112-103 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, paced by 30 points and a season-high 22 rebounds from Davis.
The night’s job was accomplished despite needing medical assistance for internal and external nose bleeding after taking a blow to the nose from Memphis’ David Roddy.
In 16 games this season after returning from a foot stress injury, Davis has averaging 26.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.
In order to keep up with the rest of the team, Davis will have to play despite the discomfort. The Los Angeles Lakers are having trouble holding on without star player LeBron James, who may miss another three weeks with a tendon injury in his right foot.
James intends to recuperate entirely with rest and rehabilitation and return by the end of March, so he is delaying surgery.
Because to James’s absence, starters like Troy Brown, Lonnie Walker, and Rui Hachimura may see more minutes, while reserves like Anthony Davis (foot) and D’Angelo Russell (ankle) will be asked to take on more offensive responsibility.
Both D’Angelo Russell and Mo Bamba sat out for the Lakers with ankle injuries.
Russell is scheduled to return to the lineup on Friday after missing the previous six games due to a damaged right ankle, while Bamba will be out for at least four weeks. His name will very certainly wind up there.
Lakers head coach Darvin Harris informed reporters that D’Angelo Russell is “pretty much a full go” on Thursday.
Unless something unexpected happens tomorrow, Russell will likely start as point guard instead of Dennis Schroder.
