The Memphis Grizzlies will play San Antonio again on Wednesday night. Memphis defeated Spurs 121-113 on Monday.
The current injury status of Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke
The Memphis Grizzlies come into this game as one of the NBA’s hottest teams, having won seven straight games since suffering back-to-back losses to Golden State and Phoenix. After starting their winning streak with four straight victories by double digits, the Grizzlies narrowly defeated Orlando, Utah, and San Antonio by a combined nine points.
Injury reports: Brandon Clarke (Hip) and Danny Green (Knee).
The soreness in Morant’s right thigh kept him from playing in either of the team’s back-to-back sets on Sunday and Monday, but it has apparently subsided enough for him to return to action on Wednesday.
He could have a big effort in store against a Spurs team that ranks worst in the league in defensive rating (118.7), and his return figures to send Tyus Jones back to the bench.
According to Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Brandon Clarke (hip) will not be able to play against the Spurs on Monday and is not expected back until the following week.
Coach Taylor Jenkins said that 26-year-old Clarke will return “hopefully sometime next week,” but he will miss his fifth straight game on Monday. This means Clarke won’t play today against San Antonio or Saturday against the Pacers, but he’ll be resting up in the hopes of returning next week.

Despite a promising 5-2 start to the season, the San Antonio Spurs have fallen below the expectations many had for them. After a strong start to the season, they went on a 16-1 losing streak, with their last victory coming in overtime against Memphis on November 9. They last won three games in a row in the middle of December, when they swept Houston, Miami, and Cleveland.
Injury reports for this game: Keita Bates-Diop (Ankle), Keldon Johnson (Hamstring) and Devin Vassell (Knee).
