The Memphis Grizzlies beat the San Antonio Spurs for the second time in three days on Thursday (NZT) in a high-scoring game at home, extending their winning streak to eight games.

The Grizzlies’ current eight-game winning streak is their longest of the season. Adams’ 18 rebounds, five assists, a steal, three blocks, and 11 points were crucial in the team’s come-from-behind victory.

Adams only played for five minutes in the first quarter due to two early fouls, and his contribution was limited to two rebounds as the Spurs held a 37-32 lead at the end of the period.

The big New Zealand center had a much better second quarter, contributing five assists, six more rebounds, and four points (including one monstrous dunk) as Memphis built a 76-62 halftime lead.

Each of Adams’s five assists for the game came in the second period.

Adams’ contribution went beyond his stat line, as he scored seven points and grabbed 10 more rebounds in the second half and made several tenacious defensive plays.

Adams took an elbow to the mouth late in the fourth quarter, causing him to bleed profusely, but he kept playing anyway.

Ja Morant was the main attraction, dominating play and scoring at will for his team despite also committing five turnovers, four assists, and five rebounds.

When they take the court again on Monday (NZT) against the Indiana Pacers, the Grizzlies will be in second place in the Western Conference, behind only the Denver Nuggets.
