SUMMARY

1. Samaje Perine

The split in the Cincinnati backfield has essentially been Mixon/Perine 60/40 since Joe Mixon made his injury comeback.

Joe Burrow has given Perine six targets over the past two games in the passing game. Anybody can appreciate a good stiff arm. In each of the games that he has started this season, Perine has had a highlight takedown.

Perine has been involved in a few drives in addition to seeing a significant portion of the third downs. Perine will benefit if the Bengals decide to concentrate their game plan on dominating the passing game.

2. Darius Slayton

Darius Slayton is attempting to end a two-game losing streak. Volume was Slayton’s enemy in Week 14. Only three times were the wideout targeted, and he caught two passes for a total of 42 yards.

However, Slayton’s seven targets over the past week are encouraging going forward. This week, Slayton has about the best matchup a wide receiver could hope for. Slayton appears set to be one of the playable sleepers this week if the volume is as strong for him as it was last week.

3. Brock Purdy

UPDATE (DEC. 24): Purdy (oblique/ribs) is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Commanders, according to ESPN.com’s Nick Wagoner.

Brock Purdy now has a record of 3-0 in the NFL, including victories over Tom Brady in his first start and the Seattle Seahawks on the road during Thursday Night Football. With 17 of 26 completions for 217 yards and two touchdowns and 16.5 PPR fantasy points, Purdy completely controlled the offense.

Since Week 13, Purdy has been the QB10 overall in terms of fantasy points scored and the 13th in terms of average points per game (17.8), despite having zero rushing yards and lacking Deebo Samuel for more effective passing attempts. Despite only averaging 204 yards per game, Purdy has six consecutive games with three or more touchdowns (T-third most). Purdy is a lower-end QB2 in Week 16 than a sleeper.

4. Chigoziem Okonkwo

For Ryan Tannehill, Chigoziem Okonkwo has been the best receiver. Okonkwo had the most targets for the Titans with five, and he caught four of them for a total of 54 yards. His three consecutive games with double-digit PPR points make him the TE2 at this point and fourth in terms of points per game (13.1).

In addition to scoring in fantasy, Okonkwo leads all tight ends with at least 50 routes run, averaging 2.63 yards per route run. In Week 16, he’ll face Houston in a matchup that’s in his favor. Okonkwo is a genuine low-end TE1, not just a sleeper.
