Dansby Swanson is still on the market, but he has a slew of interested parties.

Swanson “appears to be a possibility” for the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. The Braves, according to Heyman, “remain stealthy or quiet.”

Swanson joining the Dodgers may be every Braves fan’s worst nightmare.

If Swanson signs with the Dodgers, it will be the second year in a row that a prominent Braves infielder has signed with an NL West team.

More MLB:

The Braves and first baseman Freddie Freeman were unable to reach an agreement on a contract last winter. This prompted Atlanta to acquire first baseman Matt Olson from the Oakland Athletics, while Freeman agreed to a six-year, $162 million contract with Los Angeles.

It’s worth noting that Swanson is represented by Excel Sports Management. That’s the kind of freedom Freeman had when he signed with the Dodgers last offseason.

The Dodgers have a need at shortstop after Turner signed with the Phillies (and turn down a lucrative offer from the Padres). Swanson, along with Carlos Correa, remains one of the top free agent shortstops available.

Swanson has also been linked to the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins, and Boston Red Sox in free agency.

Swanson now has the Dodgers as a possible landing spot. We’ll have to wait and see where Swanson ends up signing.
