Latest news on Joel Embiid and Damian Lillard for Blazers vs. 76ers game

The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday looking to build on their current four-game winning streak.

Currently, the Sixers are on a winning streak. They’ve triumphed in three straight and nine of the last 12. They’ve improved to 43-22 and are currently just four games out of first place, behind only the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Sixers rounded off a successful road trip on Tuesday with a 117-94 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. They played five away games and won four.

With the game was still just three quarters old, Embiid had already turned in a performance that would have won him the Most Valuable Player title in any other game. Embiid was able to rest in the fourth quarter because they were comfortably ahead.

Embiid made 13 of 22 field goal attempts and 4 of 4 three-point attempts. On the ‘free throw’, he was perfect as well.

According to Embiid, “I feel like I’m unguardable.” He is confident in his ability to do effectively no matter who is assigned to guard him. I want them to know that keeping me safe is no easy feat.

Presently, the Blazers are in the midst of an exciting road trip. They’re currently 2-2 after dropping games to Atlanta and Boston and beating Orlando and Detroit.

Their current record of 31-35 has them in a three-way tie for 11th place in the Western Conference, behind Utah and Oklahoma City.

In 30 minutes of Wednesday’s 115-93 loss to the Celtics, Damian Lillard scored 27 points (7-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 11-11 FT), dished out 8 assists, grabbed 5 rebounds, and made 1 steal.

The 27 points scored were five less than his season average, but Lillard’s continued success from the charity stripe has been a huge boost to fantasy teams.

The superstar guard is the second-best influencer in that statistic, behind only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, with 9.4 free throw attempts per game (a career high) (10.7 attempts per game, 90.6 percent).

I have no doubt that he will win the next game he plays against the 76ers.
