The Grizzlies issued a preliminary injury report the day before the game, which included the following players:

Williams is still experiencing right knee pain due to patellar tendinitis, according to the Grizzlies, and is expected to return in 4-6 weeks.

Danny Green (jaw), Steven Adams (jaw) (foot).

Jake LaRavia (non-COVID illness) and Desmond Bane (ankle) are both questionable.

Jarren Jackson (foot) is still out following offseason surgery. When he returns in a month or so, the dynamic forward will be an important piece for the Grizzlies.

With Morant and Bane back in the lineup, the team defeated the previously 5-1 Blazers. Morant led the team with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Bane had 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Memphis won by making 13 of 28 three-point attempts. The Grizzlies are a difficult team to defend. Morant’s ability to penetrate and kick out the basketball makes him an ideal matchup for a player like Bane. Morant is averaging more than 30 points per game, while Bane is having a career year.

  • Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets will travel to Memphis to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. Charlotte began the season with two wins in their first three games, but has since slowed due to a number of key absences.

To begin the season, the Hornets have been a bit of a mystery, with big wins over the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors sandwiched between bad losses to the Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings.
