The Philadelphia 76ers will play the New Orleans Pelicans this Friday. These two teams have not met this season.
Updates on Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson’ injury status
The Pelicans are coming off a 119-118 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. This one came down to the wire, but the Pelicans came out on top. They must remain aggressive in this game if they are to defeat the Sixers at home.
Brandon Ingram (Toe), Herbert Jones (Illness), and E.J. Liddell (Knee) are all out of this game. Meanwhile, Larry Nice Jr. (Neck) is under consideration.
Brandon Ingram will miss his 16th consecutive game on Friday due to a left toe sprain. The star forward’s next opportunity to play will be against Memphis on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Zion Williamson scored 43 points (14-21 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 14-19 FT) with five assists, three rebounds, one block, and one steal in 34 minutes against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
After missing the previous three games to return to competition conditioning and work through the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Williamson didn’t miss a beat on Wednesday.

The 76ers enter this game after a 116-111 loss to the Washington Wizards. They struggled on defense, and they’ll need to get more stops in this one if they want to challenge the Pelicans on the road.
Tyrese Maxey (foot) is expected to play in this game.
He hasn’t played since Nov. 18 because of a fractured left foot, but he returned to practice on Thursday and will almost certainly play the first half of a back-to-back set on Friday. Given the length of his absence, if he is cleared to play against New Orleans, he will almost certainly be limited in minutes.
