On Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs will play their last regular-season games in Dallas. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
The most recent Mavericks – Spurs Injuries Report
The Spurs have finally finished a season that began in November. They had a good start in their first dozen or so games, but things have gone poorly since then.
As the season comes to a close, they have one of the worst records in the NBA.
It’s amazing that they offer some of the finest odds to win the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes.
The Spurs have won some games in the recent week, but the playing field has been leveled because many of their opponents have been playing bench players.
Johnson (foot) is questionable for the Mavericks game on Sunday. Johnson has missed the Spurs’ previous four games due to a foot injury.
His next chance to play will also be his last, as Sunday’s game against the Mavericks is the regular-season finale, though it wouldn’t be surprising if he sits once more.
The Spurs almost always field a bench team, so it now balances out.

This season, the Dallas Mavericks have been the NBA’s biggest disappointment.
The Western Conference finalist comes into this game with a 38-43 record, ranked 11th in the West and out of playoff contention.
It’s especially disappointing because they had high hopes after making a big trade for all-star Kyrie Irving in early February.
When Irving was acquired in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith, as well as draft picks, the Mavericks were 29-26 and sixth in the Western Conference.
The rest of the season, they went 9-17 with Irving, so it’s safe to say that was a poor trade.
Irving will not play for the Dallas Mavericks next season because the team does not want him.
Irving will miss the season finale against the Spurs on Sunday as he recovers from a right foot injury.
Irving is one of several Mavericks players who will sit out the season finale because the team is no longer in contention for the playoffs.
After being traded from the Nets in the middle of the season, the great floor general never got going in Dallas, and his future is undetermined.
Irving averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game in 20 games with the Mavericks after the trade.
Due to thigh injury recovery, Doncic will miss the season finale against the Spurs on Sunday.
Doncic is one of numerous Mavericks players who will miss the season finale as the team is out of playoff contention.
He played the first quarter and a few seconds of the second before sitting out the rest of the Bulls’ loss on Friday, and he closes the season with MVP-like numbers, though he won’t be in contention for the award.
He averages 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game in 2022-23.
