Atlanta is tied with Chicago for ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 39-39. (10-40).
The Bulls are in last place with a record of 38-40, but they have a four-game lead over the team in last place. However, they have not yet made it to the play-in round.
If Chicago wins one more game or if the Orlando Magic loses one more, they will be able to catch up to the rest of the teams.
The Bulls need to win this game because it would give them the tiebreaker against the Hawks in their season series.
After losing to the Hawks 123-122 in overtime in Atlanta on December 11, the Bulls have won the last two times they’ve played them. On January 23, the Bulls beat the Hawks 111-100 at home.
The Bulls’ top scorer, DeMar DeRozan, has led the team in scoring over the last three games, averaging 29.3 points per game. The Bulls’ second-best scorer, Zach LaVine, has scored 20 or more points in eight of his last nine games against the Hawks.
They helped the Chicago Bulls beat the Memphis Grizzlies 128-107 on Sunday, thanks in large part to a 75-39 run in the second half.
Both LaVine and DeRozan scored 36 points, and that helped the Bulls win their fourth straight game.
Chicago’s three mistakes tied a team record. During the same time period, the defense has only given up 144 points, all of which came from turnovers.
As head coach Billy Donovan said, the Bulls’ better spacing has made the court more open. “We sometimes stole the ball and went straight to the basket. We need to learn how to give each other room to breathe and play.”

ATLANTA HAWKS REPORT
Atlanta hasn’t won two games in a row since March 8 and 10. They beat Dallas 132-130 in overtime on Sunday.
Luka Doncic missed a 3-pointer that could have won the game for the Mavericks with 1.8 seconds left. Trae Young then calmly made both of his free throws.
Young‘s 24 points for the Hawks were second only to Dejounte Murray’s.
Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network says that Young might not be able to play Tuesday against the Bulls because of an illness that is not COVID.
Young hasn’t missed a game since early February, but he’ll be sick on Tuesday and can’t play against the Bulls. If Young can’t play, Vit Krejci and Aaron Holiday will likely get some time.
Collins has had trouble from long range all season, but in the last eight games he has shot 39.4% from beyond the arc.
Atlanta’s De’Andre Hunter has missed the last two games because of a bone bruise and muscle strain in his left knee.
KL Chouinard of Hawks.com says that Hunter will not play in Tuesday’s game at Chicago because of his knee.
Hunter will miss his third game in a row because the bone bruise and muscle strain in his left knee are still bothering him.
The Hawks are starting the first half of a back-to-back set, so it’s likely that Hunter won’t be able to play against the Wizards on Wednesday either. So far, Saddiq Bey, who was added to the team at the trade deadline, has started both games that Hunter has missed.
