The 2022-23 NBA season will commence on April 2, 2023, with the Golden State Warriors taking on the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

FOR THE WARRIORS
Warriors go to the Nuggets to get a better spot in the playoffs.
A lot is still up in the air in the last week of the NBA season, especially in the Western Conference. Five teams want to get out of the play-in tournament, and one team wants to stay in first place.
That makes the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night a bit more interesting.
Golden State (41–37) is still in a good position to make the playoffs with four games left in the season. Few people thought the Warriors would be where they are at this point in the season.
The Warriors’ season has been full of ups and downs, and they’ve done much worse than usual on the road.
Golden State is only 9–29 away from home, and one of its most important players from last year, Andrew Wiggins, hasn’t played since February 13 because of personal reasons.
But for the Warriors, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole can all shoot well and play well.
On Friday night, Poole made six 3-point shots as the Warriors beat San Antonio. He has now made 200 or more 3-pointers this season, joining Thompson and Curry.
More importantly, his 27 points, along with Curry’s 33 and Thompson’s 31, helped Golden State get a better hold on a playoff spot.

FOR THE NUGGETS
Denver (51-26) is already in the playoffs, but they haven’t locked up the top spot in the Western Conference yet.
The Nuggets have lost two in a row, and with five games left to play, they are two games ahead of Memphis. The score is tied between the Grizzlies and the Nuggets, but Denver has the tiebreaker.
By keeping Nikola Jokic out of the last two games because of tightness in his calf, the Nuggets have put safety ahead of getting the top seed.
They lost at home to New Orleans on Thursday night without him, and then they lost at Phoenix on Friday night after Jamal Murray (left knee management), Michael Porter Jr. (left heel), and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (non-COVID illness) joined Jokic on the injury report.
Since Denver didn’t practice on Saturday, there wasn’t any news right away about the four players.
The four players didn’t make the trip on Friday, so Aaron Gordon was the only starter and some of the bench players got to play.
Jokic will be the key, as he is about to have a season that will be remembered for a long time. He gets 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.9 assists on average per game. If he keeps this up for the rest of the season, he’ll be only the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double. He could also win MVP three years in a row, which would make him the fourth player to do so.
Jokic may not be able to play on Sunday against the Warriors because he hurt his calf.
We’ll keep going over the Nuggets’ injury report until we’re ready to play the Warriors on Sunday.
