On Friday night, Oklahoma City will take on Indiana in an effort to extend their lead over Dallas in the Western Conference.
Update on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton’ injury status
The Thunder (38-39) enter Friday’s game as the 10th seed in the Western Conference, needing to win four of their last five games just to keep from having to win a play-in game in order to make the NBA playoffs.
After suffering a setback to the Hornets, the Thunder quickly got back on track with a victory over the Pistons.
With a victory versus the Pacers, they can keep their postseason hopes alive and extend their winning streak to three games.
Thunder All-Star Gilgeous-Alexander has missed the team’s previous two games due to an injured left ankle sustained in Sunday’s victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
On Friday against the Pacers, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will sit out due to an ankle injury. He will sit out for a third straight game on Friday.
SGA will look ahead to Sunday’s game against Phoenix for his next opportunity to suit up, while Isaiah Joe, Tre Mann, and Aaron Wiggins are candidates to see some additional run again.

After losing four in a row and six of their last seven, the Pacers’ (33-44) focus has shifted to the future. They are now 3 1/2 games out of the 10th slot in the Eastern Conference.
Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and Buddy Hield, Indiana’s top three scorers, have all missed time recently.
Hield (non-COVID sickness) and Haliburton (left elbow discomfort) have missed the last two games for Indiana, while Turner has missed the last three with back stiffness.
With a victory over the Thunder, they will have won two of their last six games and hope to end their losing run.
Tyrese Haliburton will sit out Friday’s matchup with the Thunder due to an ankle injury.
It’s likely that Andrew Nembhard will keep his starting job in his absence. On Sunday, the team will play Cleveland, and Haliburton will have another opportunity to play.
