Cavaliers - Nuggets Injury Report: Will Nikola Jokic and Darius Garland PLAY tonight?

On Thursday evening, the Denver Nuggets will travel to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a game that will take place in Cleveland.

Injury Update for the Cavaliers – Nuggets

THE NUGGETS

Denver is five games ahead of the rest of the West teams with 23 games left this season (four-game loss advantage). On Thursday, October 4th, the first of those 23 games will be played against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Nikola Jokic is a heavy favorite to win his third straight NBA Most Valuable Player award, and the Nuggets have a real shot at reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

If he keeps up his current pace, Jokic would join Kobe Bryant and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to average a triple-double (24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 10.1 assists).

He’d be the first player since Larry Bird to win all three trophies at once (1984–1986).

With Jamal Murray back in the lineup and Jokic’s unwavering dedication to winning, Denver is raring to go after missing the playoffs the past two years.

The Nuggets Injury Report

Collin Gillespie‘s (leg) absence is indefinite due to a broken leg that required surgery.

Both Ezekiel Nnaji (shoulder) and Murray (knee) have missed the last five games.

Gordon (rib) sat out the final three games before to the All-Star break, with his last appearance coming on February 9 against Orlando.

THE CAVALIERS

No one was sure the Cavaliers would even finish in the playoffs at the start of the season.

After a seven-game winning streak on February 15, Cleveland’s first-half season ended with a six-point loss at Philadelphia.

The penultimate game before the All-Star break saw Cleveland’s seven-game winning streak stop with a loss to Philadelphia on the road.

The Cavaliers come into this game with a 38-23 record, good enough for second place in the Central Division, 4.5 games back of the division-leading Bucks.

They were in fourth place in the East, five games back of first-place Boston and five games ahead of eighth-place Miami.

The Cavaliers Injury Report

Rubio (sickness) and Osman (neck) sat out the final game before the All-Star break.
