On Saturday, the Dallas Mavericks continue their road trip against the Toronto Raptors. This season, the Mavericks have a 9-8 record, while the Raptors have a 9-9 record. Dallas has won four consecutive games against Toronto, including a 111-110 home victory on November 4.
Latest injury status of Pascal Siakam and Maxi Kleber
The Toronto Raptors have also lost two games in a row. Last Saturday, they were defeated by AJ Griffin’s 124-122 buzzer-beater as time expired, and they followed that up with a 112-98 loss at home to Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Pascal Siakam (groin) has been cleared for practice contact but will not play against Dallas on Saturday.
Siakam participated fully in Friday’s practice and is expected to return next week. Siakam has missed the last nine games due to a groin strain.
After missing Wednesday’s game against the Nets due to a non-COVID illness, Fred VanVleet is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks. His return to practice, on the other hand, demonstrates his availability.
If VanVleet is unable to play on Saturday, Malachi Flynn will most likely take his place.
The Mavericks are playing their second of three road games, and none of them are easy. On Wednesday, they were defeated 125-112 in Boston, their third defeat in four games. They are now 9-8 on the year, 1.5 games back of New Orleans in the Southwest Division and tenth in the Western Conference. They will travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks after this game against Toronto.
Maxi Kleber (back) is expected to play against Toronto on Saturday.
Kleber returned to practice on Friday and is expected to play in Saturday’s game. The Mavericks may rest Kleber for Sunday’s game, the second leg of a back-to-back against the Bucks, due to a lower back strain.
