The Boston Celtics will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in Massachusetts on Friday evening, but the Cavs will be without one of their best players.
Darius Garland and Dylan Windler OUT for the game Celtics – Cavaliers
Update: Darius Garland listed OUT for upcoming game against Celtics.
Darius Garland, the team’s All-Star point guard, has been ruled out due to an eye injury that has kept him out of their last three games (as relayed by Underdog NBA).
Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff recently stated to Evan Dammarell that Garland participated in on-court activities on Tuesday. Although Darius Garland will miss Wednesday’s game against the Magic, he appears to be on track to return sooner rather than later.
He is an important member of their team, as he averaged 21.7 points and 8.6 assists per game last season.
Despite the absence of Garland, they have had a strong start to the year.
The Cavs are currently 3-1 in their first four games and on a three-game winning streak.
They have victories over the Chicago Bulls, the Washington Wizards, and the Orlando Magic.
They acquired Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz during the offseason, and the three-time NBA All-Star has been a big reason for their success.
Dylan Windler was also ruled OUT of the match.
In addition to the two cases mentioned above, the Cavs will most likely have the strongest lineup.
The Celtics have made no official injury announcements, it is possible that they will have the strongest squad.
The Celtics come into the game with a 3-1 record in their first four games.
They had started 3-0 but lost their most recent game on Monday evening in Illinois to the Bulls.
