The Lakers may play their first game without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, or Russell Westbrook.
Injury Report: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors
The NBA season 2022-23 is just hours away from beginning. And, as with every year, NBA opening day is one of the most exciting times for fans of the league.
This season, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors will square off in one of the season’s first games.
Because the Warriors are the defending champions, having them play on the first day of the season is a no-brainer.
The Lakers, despite being one of the worst teams in the league last season, still have a star-studded roster.
Many fans, understandably, want to see Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, and Klay Thompson go up against LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. However, due to injury concerns, the game may be called off.
The Purple and Gold have lost a lot of games over the last two seasons due to constant injuries to their star players. Fans hoped to see their favorite NBA players healthy this season, but that possibility is dwindling.
According to ESPN, the Lakers will be without Troy Brown Jr. (back), Dennis Schroder (thumb), and Thomas Bryant (thumb injury). The three players will miss the first few weeks of the season.
On top of that, the Lakers’ backbone has been listed as probable for the first game. Yes, LeBron James (left foot soreness), Anthony Davis (back injury), and Russell Westbrook (hamstring) are all listed as probable for the Warriors game.
